One of our favorite devices that we used for our CP Warrior when he was younger is the ZipZac Chair. This gave our little guy mobility prior to being able to use a wheelchair. It was great seeing him have the freedom of exploring around our house.
Zchair LLC is a company dedicated to helping children with special needs to have the ability to experience greater freedom by providing the means to explore their world around them with mobility devices.
It is not a device designed specifically for children with Cerebral Palsy so you will want to consult with your doctor or physical therapist. For example, when our CP Warrior was younger it worked great as he was seated nice and snug. However, as he got older and had more strength in his legs, he could push himself out of the seating area. That forced us to move him to another device that used a 5-point harness.
ZipZac® come in two sizes. The original ZipZac® is designed for children as early as 9 months to 2.5 yrs depending on their development and the ZipZac® II is designed for children from 2-1/2 yrs up to 5. The most important measurement to consider is the actual width of the child’s hips. The original ZipZac® is for children with a hip width of 8.0" (20 cm) or less. The ZipZac® II is for children with a hip width of 10" (25 cm) or less.
